This first set of photographs was taken in Washington State, when we went home on leave. The weather was amazing and totally uncharacteristically Washington. Enjoy!

Point Wilson, Wa Again. |
Can you tell that Point Wilson is one of my favorite places? The lighthouse is on the grounds of Fort Flagler State Park.
Fort Flagler is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey. They have a marine life exhibit on the pier, and the beach surrounding it is often home to seal pups come spring. The rest of the park is pretty cool - you can see what a turn of the century military installation was like - in WWII bunkers were built, and canons were installed to help protect the Puget Sound from any enemies. The canons are long inoperable and removed, but the bunkers are still there. They are a great place to explore - but bring a flashlight, it can get pretty dark in the catacombs!
Just north of the bunkers, West of the lighthouse is one of my favorite beaches - it is a great place to go when storms are rolling into the Sound, and just watch the clouds and the waves come ashore from the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

I am still learning my craft, and with learning, comes mistakes. I make lots of mistakes, I know this. THAT said - I welcome your comments on anything - as long as they are actually constructive - how else will I learn?
